Tonya Dye (Brown) is the daughter of Louis Herbert and Mary Dye. She is member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church and current Secretary of NOAH. She is a believer in the sayings, “each one must teach one” and “play it forward”.
Tonya is a founding member of the Buffalo and Erie County Youth Partnership and Stop the Violence Coalition. Serving as former Vice President of WNY Association of Youth Bureau and Youth Boards and on the Niagara County Youth Board she strived to increase positive youth development. Tonya served as the financial secretary for Sunshine Temple #187 a chapter of the Elks in Niagara Falls for six years. As a community builder for United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, she recruited and trained volunteers for outcome funding and yearly investments into community programs for millions of dollars. Her community impact include help to build positive partnerships that helped people get their basic needs met, brought in funding for over 4 million dollars, organized volunteers to build community benches, community playgrounds and community improvement projects and increased quality of human services. Hundreds of people’s conditions, situations, or levels of satisfaction have changed for the better. Presently she works as a client support analyst in the local government division assisting customers to resolve payroll, accounting, cash receipts, property tax and utility billing software system issues.
In her personal life, Tonya has taken in the homeless and given them a home, helped with individuals to get their residency and citizenship in the United States, and provided temporary rest for the weary. She is the mother of two children Zonja Glover and Marcus Parmer. Marcus is a cook with seven children. Zonja is vice principal of a middle school. Both are making a positive impact on this world. That makes Tonya in her words “a very proud rich person”.
